This is something that has always bewildered me about the US education system - that teaching is considered such a second-rate job that many in the profession need to second job just to get by.

But I guess if you want an easily manipulated, stupid population, what better way to affect the outcome?

*This is not to denigrate the many capable and dedicated teachers in your country. I applaud them. It's just that they deserve so much better. They also deserve to not have to work with buffoons like Reed.
