What I find troubling is the propensity for so many people these days to view almost everything through a political lens.

Doesn't seem to matter much what the subject is, someone will find a way to put a political spin on it, taking the opportunity to voice their outrage (and unasked for opinion) about one political party or another.

It's exhausting, and one wonders how their lives can be so small as to have nothing else to do other than regurgitate hackneyed talking points.
