Similar level of disappointment with the Australian public here … poll revealed this morning that only 22% of people rate climate change as an important issue for the upcoming Federal election. (Our current PM is a climate change denier.)

I wonder if the whole concept of climate change is too big a problem for most people to feel like they can do anything about it? Or perhaps they already feel like they’re doing all they can? (Recycling, electric cars, solar panels etc. etc.)

Perhaps it’s a matter of finding new parts of the elephant for them to chew on? Give them more (smaller) things to care about that they can grasp and take affirmative action on — that either directly or indirectly move us towards slowing the rate of global warming?
